Billable Assets: What Assets Are You Paying For?

Billable assets are the assets you are paying for. Attaxion only bills you for active and scannable domains, IPv4, and IPv6 addresses.

While Attaxion tracks and discovers several types of assets, you only pay for active domains and IP addresses owned by your organization and therefore scannable. It does not matter if you’ve manually added these assets or if they were discovered by Attaxion.

How to Check Your Billable Asset Count

To find the total number of billable assets, click on your account name in the upper right-hand corner of the window and navigate to the Billing page.

If you have any questions about your total billable assets, send a message to the Service Desk through the Contact Us button in the top menu.

What Are You Not Paying For

Attaxion does not bill you for the following:

  • Assets that are not domains or IP addresses, such as SSL certificates, open ports, email addresses, cloud accounts, and organizations. They are visible as long as their corresponding domain or IP address is paid for.

  • Non-scannable assets or assets directly associated with your infrastructure but not owned by your organization, such as CDNs and third-party mail servers. These assets are not scanned but are still displayed. However, non-scannable assets are grayed out in the infrastructure graph and asset catalog to set them apart from your actual assets.
  • False positive assets. If you mark an asset as a false positive, it’s removed from your asset list and you will not be billed for it.
